ChinaThe first Asian country I travelled to (1995), but I did in no way fall in love with the country after that first visit. Two recent visits (2000 and 2002) have however opened my eyes and now I would rank it very high as a travel destination. A huge and diverse country where the food is the best in the world, the history is there in abundance, the scenery is awesome in the mountains around Tibet and the grapes and melons are dirt cheap and absolutely delicious in Xinjiang by late summer. |
